Correcting my mistakes

Oooops...
You know, the more I learn and advance in the art of ninjutsu and ninpo - the lifeways of the Ninja...
...the farther away I get from getting this internet technology thing down. And, let me tell you, I am trying.
However, there are still a few areas where I'm a bit behind.
Take yesterday's newsletter, for example. If you didn't read it, you might want to - if for no other reason than the information on the Shuriken, the ninja's so-called "throwing star."
And, just in case the "anti-spam dog" ate your copy of the newsletter, you can access it, and all of the back-issues here
However, I made a huge mistake that has to be corrected.
You see, I made an offer to those interested to save a few bucks by pre-ordering my new book about the shuriken. The problem is...
...the payment button from PayPal was flawed. In fact, after several attempts this morning, I found where their "idiot proof" system was leading me astray.
For those of you who tried to pre-order the ebook for $10 and found that PayPal was trying to charge you an additional $7 for shipping and handling (of which there shouldn't be any because it's an ebook!) - the problem has been fixed.
To pre-order your copy of the new book, "SHURIKEN: Mastering the Ninja's 'Throwing Star'", you can safely use the button below to place your order.
AND...
If you're still looking for some quality shuriken for real practice, instead of the cheap, crappy "toys" that are being sold everywhere, check out the new WCI Senban Shuriken!
And Now...
...for something completely different!
On to a different sort of technology...
...video.
It seems that our new Takagi-Yoshin Shoden no Maki videos have become very popular, very quickly. However, some folks are not happy with the quality of the video itself. This again, is my fault.
We hired a video production company that was supposed to edit and render the videos we had into DVD. The mistake...?
...I took them at their word when they showed me the "final copy" without reviewing the actual DVD when it arrived.
After receiving several bits of feedback from students and customers, I looked at the videos and found that they were, indeed, not perfect.
While the information on the videos (of which we never get complaints about) is fine and gets the lessons across, those who are sticklers about a crystal clear picture will be disappointed. Of course, I immediately called the production company on this and was given the old Samurai 2-step with a bunch of reasons why the finished product didn't look exactly like the "final version" they showed me on a computer screen.
Anyway, long story short... if you're looking for superb, studio-shot, HDD quality video from our current line, sorry... it just isn't there.
But, what I'd like to do, as I change a bit of the marketing descriptions to make sure that people get this fact, is this...
While I can't redo an entire seminar overnight, I can get together with a couple of students and re-shoot the techniques contained on the original video - making sure to point out and clarify some of the "rough" areas that might be unclear.
Then, we'll be sending out a copy of this new video to everyone who recently purchased the TYR DVD. Now, in order to get this to you quickly, I won't be doing a lot of fancy editing or titling. You're getting a clear rendering of the techniques taught in the original, to make up for quality issues.
Then, what we'll do is simply add this "bonus" video to each future order of the DVD. That way, everyone will get all of the additional insights that come out during the re-shoot.
Apparently, the primary reason for the video quality problem is that the equipment the seminars were shot on, is not perfectly compatible with the editing software available today. The new technology actually enhances any flaws in the original recording.
Since my goal has always been to get quality, proven, and workable "INFORMATION" to people, I decided to offer the seminars shot on tape we currently have. Just know that I will do my best to insure that the image quality is up to snuff with whom-ever we decide to go with next as a production company.
No excuses. No smoke.
